Garnett Dickinson has continually invested in new technology to provide our customers with a fast Online Proofing service and complete peace of mind. Using the most advanced proofing technology we will ensure your job is easy to proof with minimal hassle. You will receive a “soft” low-resolution “content proof” included in the price of the job. Alternatively we can supply a hard copy proof, for a small additional cost, sent via post (you supply files by 10:00am, and we will post out same day). Proofing online has a major advantage over hard copy proofs of taking time out of the schedule.
As online soft proofs are not colour accurate we can also supply Contract Quality Grand-Sherpa proofs which give a good representation of what we would achieve on press at reasonable rates.

Proof Sign Off
Passing a set of proofs through Agfa Web Approval is very easy. You view pages individually via your unique login and tick a box to accept a proof, or another one to reject it. If you reject a page the system will not allow you to do so unless you enter the reason. If you pass most of the pages and re-supply two or three new pages, we will re-proof these pages and ask for another sign off.
The system is very rich in terms of email flags, prompts and warnings (missing pages, deadlines for proof passes, etc) and you are kept up to date at all stages as to the progress of your job.

QC Checking
Even after your proof sign off our quality control does not stop there. Before we make the plates we output our own set of low-res proofs (we do it at this stage because then any replacement pages are included in the final proof) and go through a checklist, e.g. gutters, bleeds, bulking, trim marks not in page area, folios, plus various internal checks. We will point out any further problems to you for clarification, before plating.
An interesting feature of our system is that the low-res hard copy proofs have the trimmed page area super-imposed on top of the image. We can see where text is too close to the trim (or even trimming off either through bad design/page makeup, or through bulking due to the flat-planning issues on a large pagination saddle-stitched job) at a glance and can alert you to any potential problems.

Press Pass Visits
Some of our customers prefer to approve their jobs on press. We aim to make Press Pass visits to Garnett Dickinson as succcessful and smooth running as possible. Our friendly and experienced CSRs (Client Service Representatives) and Sales Representatives will make your visit to Rotherham effective and enjoyable. We know that sometimes they are necessary at unsociable hours and we endeavour to make your visit to Rotherham as pleasant as possible. Our well equipped Customer Lounge has been designed with your comfort in mind, with comfy sofas, entertainment, snacks and drinks and even a game of pool! Plating
Both of our Very Large Format Xcalibur plate-setters can produce the large format plates (24 or 16 pages to view) and the smaller plates for our M600 and Man Roland Presses. Exposure wedges and colour control strips are always included to ensure correct plate exposure, aid colour measurement and control on press. Stochastic screening options available.

File Returns
Your original files (if supplied on disk) are returned when the job is finished, together with any proofs you may have supplied. We can offer a file archiving service.
