Garnett Dickinson places £1 million stacker order
Garnett Dickinson, the Rotherham based magazine and catalogue printer, has announced details of a £1 million order for two Gammerler SV 500 log stackers and automatic palletisers to work in conjunction with the 48pp MAN Roland Lithoman IV printing press on order for its new facility currently being built. The order is part of a £20 million investment programme announced in April which will see Garnett Dickinson’s operations relocate approximately 10 minutes away to an innovative purpose-built site in the Rotherham Enterprise Zone.
The company has just placed the order with German manufacturer, Gammerler AG, who is the leading manufacturer of high quality inline finishing equipment and uses advanced material handling technology and superior construction materials.
In addition to the stackers and automatic palletisers, Garnett Dickinson has ordered a RS 134 Rotary Trimming system and a KL 540 compensating stacker. The equipment, which will be manufactured in Germany, is set to be delivered in December, following the installation of the MAN Roland press in November 2005, and will be operational in January 2006. The company chose the Gammerler system because it can provide the exceptional automation it requires at the new facility and will reduce make-ready times and waste.
Divisional Director, Geoff Gramlick, commented: “We decided to go with the Gammerler stacker system as it provides the kind of automation and technology we are investing in at our new state of the art facility and Gammerler share many similar values in what we are trying to achieve. The new factory will offer customers an exceptional range of printing services with unrivalled service. For example, the addition of the new spine gluing facility combined with the Rotary Trimmer on order from Gammerler will allow us to spine glue all sizes and shapes of booklets, leaflets and magazines, giving our customers greater flexibility and extending our offering.”
Garnett Dickinson Print, Highly Commended in the 2004 PrintWeek Customer Service Team of the Year and nominated as Environmental Printer of the Year 2005 in the forthcoming Printing World Awards will be operating from its new facility in early 2006.
